The ski season starts here!
On the Events page, we've published our list of weekend meet leaders who will be organising tours if there's snow on local fells.
Last season, we had some good tours, including spectacular conditions in March on The Dodds in North Lakeland.
We've also got a range of metal-edged touring skis and track skis to hire for club members.
Check out our Facebook page or this website's home page for details of any planned tours (when conditions allow).

Light-hearted talk on skiing
An illustrated talk by Nick Gray on cross-country skiing in the UK and Norway will take place at Natland Village Hall, near Kendal, from 8pm on Friday 27 October.
The talk is free. Everyone welcome, but please leave the klister at home - we don't want a repeat of last year...

A season finale...?
Just when you think there's going to be no skiing in the lakes in 2017, you get deep snow, blue skies and no wind. Almost perfect conditions.
Thankfully, those conditions fell on a Saturday (25 March), and five club members (plus one dog) made the 9.15am start from Matterdale car park. Skis were put on a short distance from the car for the climb to Randerside, then Great Dodd. Snow depth was around 20cm - difficult for the hill-walkers but ideal for skiing - albeit the very hot conditions quickly softened the snow.
From Great Dodd it was to Watson's Dodd and Stybarrow Dodd, then down to Hart Crag to cross Rush Gill and back to the car. The skiers were: Nick, Christine, Geoff, Marcus and Mike, and the non-skier was Binky the dog.
